Within the urban landscape surrounding the centre, lead artist Linda Schwab wanted to link the reception area to the courtyard garden and maximise the sense of this relationship for patients and their carers. Using a polished stainless steel linear 'drawing' of the bough of a tree we were able to represent the Mighty Oak yet keep the 'Chandeliers' close to the ceiling and not interfere with the working space below. We used 'Twig' lamps from Aktiva Systems Ltd, which provided a projection of the leaf forms extending the artwork across the ceiling.
